BODY BEAUTIFUL
Here are some easy do-it-yourself tips to pamper every inch of you! From cracked heels to chipped nails, these are sure-fire fixes for all your beauty problems. So take the day off, send off the kids and husband and luxuriate in all these feel-good treatments for a glowing, beautiful you!!

DRY, SCALY ELBOWS AND KNEE

Mash up some pineapple (Fresh pineapple is ideal, but you can use canned as well) in the blender and rub it into your elbows and knees. Leave it on for about 15 minutes so the natural enzymes can do their work. Rinse off and apply a rich moisturizer or Vaseline.

MANICURE IN A SNAP

Moisturizing regularly is the most important step for soft, smooth hands. Rub a glycerin-based cream into your hands several times a day, especially after washing them or spending time outdoors. After moisturizing, file nails into a square shape with rounded edges. It's the most natural looking shape, and will discourage hangnails from forming. Next, rub a buffer over nails to give them a bit of shine. Finish off by rubbing a small dab of cuticle oil, around the edges.

BROWN SPOTS ON YOUR HANDS

Age spots are caused by years of sun exposure. Since our hands generally get the most rays, that's where they show up first. First, pay your dermatologist a visit to make sure they're not pre-cancerous. Then they can be treated topically with bleaching cream, hydrocortisone creams or Retina-A. Microdermabrasion is also an option to buff them away. You must wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen every day to prevent those spots from returning.

STOP NAILS FROM CHIPPING

Give them a rest from polish. Nail polish and the acetone removers dry out your nails and making them susceptible to chips and breakage. Forget those myths about eating gelatin; your nails are dead keratin and can't be nourished. Instead, use moisturizer to soften the nails, and try buffing them for a week instead of coating them. When you do wear polish, use a strengthening base coat to protect your nails.

YELLOWING NAILS

Wearing a lot of dark polish and smoking regularly are the main causes of yellowing nails. One of the easiest ways to bleach your nails back to a healthy-looking pink is with a lemon. Slice it in half and stick your finger in for a few minutes. The natural acids will whiten and soften the nail. Rinse and apply a lotion.

CRACKED HEELS

Exfoliate daily while you're in the shower -- pumice stones or foot files help softening calluses. Then immediately apply a rich moisturizing cream and slip on a pair of socks to seal it in place. In a week or so, you'll have a new pair of feet!

BANISH BLEMISHES ON BACK OR CHEST

Mix one half cup of honey with one half cup of orange juice and apply to the affected areas. Let sit for 5 minutes then rinse. Honey heals and banishes blemishes and the orange juice will dry up the excess oils.

SCAR LESS HEALING

Carefully crack open a raw egg and remove the skin that's inside the shell. Put the wet side on the cut for speedy healing without a scar!

INGROWN TOENAIL

Before you go to bed, put a small wedge of lemon on the toenail, securing it with a band-aid. Put on a sock. When you wake up, the nail should be soft enough to ease it away from the skin so that you can trim it. Always cut the nail straight across and not any shorter than the toe.

LEGS SOFT AS SILK

Mix two Tbs. of petroleum jelly with the contents of one 400 IU vitamin E capsule and massage all over your legs. Slip on cotton pajamas and go to bed. In the morning, wash legs with a moisturizing body wash and apply a body lotion. Soft as silk!
